What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy the most about tutoring, is when I see the students understanding when I explain my methods to them, and being able to complete more questions of similar difficulty without any to little assistance. As well as when I see that they are improving and increasingly doing better and to know that I am helping them along this process.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strengths as a tutor would definitely be my ability to relate to kids and thus getting along well with them. As someone from quite a large family with a lot of kids I have quite a bit of experience with younger children between the ages of 5-13. And with this I have learnt that if you wish for them to respect you, you need to have mutual respect for them and try to understand, though it may be difficult to do so with our perspectives on things. However, when this is achieved they are much more likely to listen to you if you maintain a balance of casual fun and strictness.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is be there for them in times of academic struggle and genuinely believe that they will be able to pull through. I have personally experienced this and witnessed many cases where I see that the student is lacking in certain aspects or disinterested because they believe they are not capable of achieving their goals due to the lack of belief and trust placed in them, when they actually could. I think knowing your student well is important to see what motivates them and what methods will work and most importantly believing in them.
