What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Personally, I enjoy revisiting topics of genuine interest, ideas that I may not have thought about in a while. I enjoy meeting new students and having a positive impact on their understanding of physics and maths.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I feel I can relate and have fun with a student quite naturally. Usually, this builds a good and productive level of trust which, in turn, provides a good foundation and positive environment for learning what can often be tricky concepts. Throughout my own studies (PhD Astrophysics, MSc Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, BSc Physics) I have taught over 30 high-schools and University students. I am fully trained and qualified in sensory-cognitive tuition for Lindamood-bell, providing one-on-one teaching for students of all ages including students diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. At the University of Edinburgh, I lead tutorials, workshops and lab sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate (up to PhD level) physics/astronomy courses. Managing the abilities of undergraduate students while providing support in problem-solving and data analysis for postgraduate students. I also created unique lessons for private tuition, specializing in both Mathematics and Physics from GCSE/Standard Grade (13 years old) to A-Level/Advanced Highers (18 years old).
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
In general, I aim to build confidence and self-belief in a student in order to be independently successful. I find that most students are capable of understanding and learning difficult topics but a limited belief in their abilities prevents them from performing to their best ability. Available at any time.
