What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The process of tutoring is, in my opinion, a mutually beneficial act in that by explaining something to another person, I myself am revising and solidifying content that I already know. I believe that if a person cannot explain a concept to someone else who previously has no knowledge of said concept, then they do not understand it profoundly enough. Thus, as every student is different in the way they understand information, I enjoy tutoring because I am always adapting to new and unique ways to ensure different students understand the same content.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have always been engaged in leadership throughout high school, believing that the voice of the students' needs to be communicated in the right way to teachers and principals. Thus, as a captain, I acted as a bridge of communication between students and teachers. By doing so, I have consolidated a strong and efficient ability in retaining information and communicating such information as efficient and acceptable as possible. This has nurtured in me a greater sense of patience and empathy, so that I can more effectively relay information, confidence and moral support for them to succeed.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the ability to catalyse inner motivation is the greatest thing a tutor can do for their student. From my experience, I performed the best in subjects where my teachers were able to open my eyes to the interesting and cool aspects, as well as their application in real life. When a student understands not only the "WHAT" of the content, but also the "HOW" and "WHY", they can intrinsically motivate themselves to improve and learn more in the subject matter of their interest, that may one day become their career.
