I most enjoy helping my students to progress and build their skills and confidence in using English to communicate and understand society and the world around them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths a a tutor are to help my students develop learning strategies that allow them to identify and overcome the roadblocks in their learning. I am patient, approachable and always looking for ways to improve student engagement with the subject. I like my lessons to be learner centred and from their, build around the curriculum requirements because in my experience, when a student sees a benefit from engaging more deeply, it helps improve the teaching moments. When students are interested, the are more motivated and they retain what they are learning better.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are to be honest, collaborate in their learning journey, and give them learning strategies. Students benefit from having a tutor they trust who is honest with them on their current strengths and weaknesses and who also inspires confidence that the weaknesses can be overcome. Collaboration with the students helps build trust so that the student enjoys and has fun in the tutoring session, which I think is important in maintaining energy, motivation and engagement. Teaching them how to learn gives them lifelong skills.
