What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love the joy and pride that you can see in a child's face when they finally grasp a tricky concept that they have been working really hard to understand.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths would have to be that I often think differently to most where I see problems in a different light. This allows me to provide students with a different way of viewing and framing a task. Effective learning is all about finding the best way that each person is able to absorb information and I'm great at providing a different, unusual and uncommon path as an alternative, using real life, relatable examples.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Celebrate the wins and encourage and support them through the trickier parts so that we can get more wins and celebrate more so they feel like winners all the time!

Amelia did some amazing work at sounding out whilst reading. Once Amelia was provided with a relatable example from her everyday life she started to get the concept of what the who, what, when, where and how consists of. She was great at being able to share her current knowledge of the world as well as openly express her thoughts, opinions and feelings of her world whilst participating in the getting to know you game.
The assessment tasks that I took to utilize during the session were too advanced for Amelia's abilities. I should have taken multiple assessment tasks for varying year levels in order to select the most appropriate without needing to acknowledge the level of the assessment to minimize any self consciousness that this might cause Amelia to feel.
