What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Tutors fill a different role than teachers and parents, and that puts them in a unique position to support students. Personal relationships are foundational to student success -- the more connected a student feels to his or her tutor, the more the tutor creates trust and respect, essential ingredients for students to learn well. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to teach and focus my attention on a willing student, and helping that student to achieve his or her goal. I enjoy building a student's confidence and sharing the joy that comes with improvement.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am a positive, fun and enthusiastic person with strong interpersonal skills. Able to connect with a wide range of students of different ages and backgrounds. My strengths would be:
- communication and social skills
- patience, responsibility, tolerance
- ability to solve conflicts, emotional intelligence
- creativity and enthusiasm for teaching
- ability to explain difficult things in a simple way
- ability to connect with children (or with older students), on a personal level
- understanding for the world of children, their emotions and feelings
Most important things I can do for a student π
Tutors must be able to adapt themselves to every student that they work with. Since there is no universal formula, your approach must depend on the studentβs individual need and the particular difficulties he or she experiences. Every student is different, and not all of them will grasp a concept easily or learn quickly. It is also most likely that the student that really needs tutoring is a student that is struggling. Thus, tutors need to be very patient. Tutors need to be active listeners and demonstrate a level of openness that makes them approachable and accessible. Maturity
