What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The main thing that I enjoy about tutoring is the interaction between students and the tutor, especially in a one-to-one situation. I like being able to see the student starting to understand what I have taught them. I also like that they can comfortably ask me questions as I known some students may feel embarrassed to raise their questions in front of a large class. I enjoy seeing my student’s progress in maths which may result in their improved performance in tests and examination. This shows that our mutual efforts are being rewarded.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As I have had many years of tutoring experience, I am extremely familiar with many teaching materials. In addition to that, patience, motivation, encouragement, and a bit of humour are the essential gradients in my tuition. I always encourage my students to have a positive attitude when learning mathematics as excelling in maths will always be beneficial for you. I understand that everyone has their own method in learning, therefore I always strive to listen to and better understand each student so that I can cater the lessons to their individual needs.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is not only passing on the knowledge to the student but to also activate the student’s desire to learn by themselves. This includes the desire to search for the answer and to overcome the problems. We are not spoon feeding the student the information. There is an old saying “Give a child a fish and you feed her for a day; teach a child to use a net and she won’t bother you for the rest of her lifeâ€. A good tutor should also know what the weaknesses and strengths of their students are, we can tailor the curriculum to suite everyone’s needs.
