What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring helps me expand knowledge onto other people. I have always been that one student who kept getting asked for help in math class, and so it became natural for me to teach other people. But tutoring is also very rewarding for me, as I feel that, not only am I transferring knowledge to another person, I will also help them understand the complexity and uniqueness of maths. Without my teachers and tutors, I would not be able to understand that myself, and it is certainly a great pleasure to do the same for others.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am diligent and persistent. I am young and approachable, and I believe my methods are easy and quick to understand. I am always willing to re-study some topics and I generally really like teaching. I always write everything down so I have already had documents for middle school mathematics that I found helpful that can also help other people. I'm flexible and I do not give up until both of us can understand the subject being discussed.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To be reliable and efficient. As a tutor, I need to be able to make sure that the student knows how I am going to help them. I believe that practice creates better students. Repetition of hard topics is also a must. A tutor needs to create a healthy relationship with the student in order to ensure that they can help them improve. This includes flexibility and the ability to change my methods in order to suit each individual student.

Annie has almost finished the worksheet on the basics of inheritance, learning about Gregor Mendel and Mendelian inheritance, dominant and recessive traits, how they are passed down, and some exceptions such as co-dominance and incomplete dominance.
Annie should make some flash cards on the new terminologies learned today, including examples in the types of inheritance. Annie should also practice connecting what she had learned about chromosomes and genetic expression in the previous module to this topic as it would make it easier to remember.

Annie has learned pedigrees and how to utilise it with punnett squares to determine inheritance across multiple generations, applying what she has learned in the previous week as well. Annie has multiple examples of genetic mutations and chromosomal mutations that she can use in her exams, and understands the difference between substitutions and frameshift mutations.
Annie should practice more pedigree questions on her own and checking her answers before tests. Annie should also make flash cards on the topics discussed today as she tends to struggle with new terminology, so she then becomes unable to apply them to new but related topics.

Rylan has done well with most of the sample questions by himself. Rylan understands which equations to use, especially for vector proofs. Rylan has significantly improved his working out, as to make sure the marker will understand how he has come to his answers.
Rylan should practice the questions at least once more before the exams, especially trying to remember the vector equations like projections, dot product, and angle/length. As 50% of the exam is unseen, he will benefit from practicing normal questions in his textbook as well

Annie is progressing well with her assignment, with most of the pieces done. Annie is also beginning to grasp important DNA transcription and translation concepts as she progresses. Not only are the materials she used coherent and pleasant to look at, they also correctly models the steps of transcription and translation
Annie will benefit from starting the report part of her assignment, as that does make up the majority of her grades. It is recommended that she finishes her poster by the end of the week.
