What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring helps me expand knowledge onto other people. I have always been that one student who kept getting asked for help in math class, and so it became natural for me to teach other people. But tutoring is also very rewarding for me, as I feel that, not only am I transferring knowledge to another person, I will also help them understand the complexity and uniqueness of maths. Without my teachers and tutors, I would not be able to understand that myself, and it is certainly a great pleasure to do the same for others.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am diligent and persistent. I am young and approachable, and I believe my methods are easy and quick to understand. I am always willing to re-study some topics and I generally really like teaching. I always write everything down so I have already had documents for middle school mathematics that I found helpful that can also help other people. I'm flexible and I do not give up until both of us can understand the subject being discussed.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To be reliable and efficient. As a tutor, I need to be able to make sure that the student knows how I am going to help them. I believe that practice creates better students. Repetition of hard topics is also a must. A tutor needs to create a healthy relationship with the student in order to ensure that they can help them improve. This includes flexibility and the ability to change my methods in order to suit each individual student.

Annie should definitely do more papers as her studies continue, and familiarise herself with concepts and questions that will be similar across all past papers. Doing so will also make her more confident in her independent answers without a tutor.

Annie could point the steps in DNA replication, transcription and translation. She understand the enzymes needed to undergo transcription and translation, pre-mRNA to post-mRNA, etc. She understands the steps moving forward to start her project, beginning with storyboarding and materials.
Annie can watch more videos and gather other sources to increase her clarity on transciption and translation before she starts on her assignment. Annie should also learn and understand these concepts beyond this assignment, as it will be important in the HSC.

Annie is continuing with her assignment well, as we started with the base pairs, codons, and amino acid needed. We have finished the DNA, mRNA, and tRNA needed for her poster. Annie was starting to understand the complimentary nature of DNA base pairs, and its role in the transcription of mRNA at the coding strand and translation to amino acids.
Annie can create notes on this process as it is a crucial part of the HSC. Furthermore, being more confident in the process means she could independently progress through the concepts.

Rylan was able to analyse some artworks on his own, deriving the 4 frameworks and techniques as evidence of his analysis. He was also able to infer some educated guesses on others he may not fully understand.
Rylan should definitely practice more unseen questions as it seems that this is his weakest part. We have discussed some clues we can find if he is a bit unsure of his responses. Rylan should also be more familiar with historical contexts across times, and how artworks often reflect this which is beneficial for holistic analysis beyond techniques alone.
