What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As an ex-tutoring student when I was in both high school and primary school, I have seen the clear benefits of tutoring through my academic performance in school. I enjoy the aspect of being able to make hard concepts understandable for students, and to potentially transform learning a particular subject from something they despised to something they are confident in. I would also enjoy being able to be a mentor and figure for my students to rely on.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As I was very recently in the exact position of these students, I believe I am able to strongly understand their struggles and utilize this to help the students in any way that they need. I also believe that I would be able to easily form a friendly, casual relationship with the students so that they are comfortable and feel supported as they strive for their academic goals.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is important for a tutor to be knowledgeable in their content and pass this onto their student in a manner that is easy to understand. I also believe that it is important to get to know the specific strengths and weaknesses of their student so that they can help to turn the weaknesses into strengths, as well as reinforcing the strengths. Lastly, it is important for a tutor to be able to be a friend to their student. I believe that having a friendly relationship with their student will make lessons feel less like an extra class outside of school and create an enjoyable environment.
