What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really love watching someone's confidence in their abilities grow, and find helping someone else achieve their goals as fulfilling as reaching my own.
I also get excited about learning things in general! Although tutoring can be stressful for a student anxious about grades, it's really fantastic when they find an area or topic they are passionate about and seeing a concept 'click' for them.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
When mentoring I keep a flexible, dynamic approach- I love to learn about the different ways people process and retain information, and finding ways to make learning more engaging and effective.
I also focus on setting achievable and relevant goals, as well as focusing on forming a collaborative relationship with the person I am mentoring. I find this helps keep motivation and morale high while really enhancing their understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Making things seem more approachable and achievable. Unknown or difficult concepts can be so intimidating, so finding a way to break them down or explain it in the student's "learning language". Building a collaborative relationship with a student too, where they feel comfortable to express themselves and how they understand the topic openly also allows for more efficient and effective tutoring.
