What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to motivate and enable students to find joy in learning. I really value being able to see progress, growth and improvements in students I tutor and it would have to be one of the most rewarding part about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strength as a tutor is my ability to build rapport, connect and engage with each student. I believe each student's needs, goals and abilities should be catered for and my strength lies in providing tailored teaching, specialised tips and tricks that cater to the individual student in particular.
Several parents of previous students I have tutored have also commented on an improved and motivated attitude of their children regarding their education and learning. I believe this arises from my passion and ability to make tutoring lessons engaging and motivating.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to identify their strengths and areas of improvement in particular to improve the student's overall performance in a particular subject area. Thus, I believe it is really important to enable the student to feel empowered about their learning through support and encouragement. This will also allow effective improvement and growth overall for the student in both their studies as well as imparting a positive attitude towards learning for success throughout their academic career.

Lucy was able to show a good grasp of fundaments regarding surds and mathematic operations in general. Able to identify and backcheck to correct mistakes. Able to grasp concepts discussed and practised for division of surds and able to independently solve them by the end of the lesson.
Ensuring to backcheck at all times will continue to work on this through future lessons. Setting out lengthier operations especially involving multiple brackets in an orderly way to avoid confusion while solving the question.

Grasp of fundamentals of adding/subtracting like terms involving surds is strong and revised over these concepts. Effective working out and lay out of solution. Isabella demonstrated motivation to take on backchecking regularly for each question attempted. Isabella was able to independently solve through division surd questions by the end of the lesson to be continued at the next lesson.
Isabella expressed difficulty in recalling the multiplication tables especially when simplifying surds to be practised through homework and built on while working through maths questions in general. Will also continue to work through harder division and multiplication surd questions to improve confidence in this subject.

Student was able to independently solve through a question on lump sum repayment and was able to understand this topic a bit better by the end of the lesson. Student attempted to use backchecking method and discussed methods of setting out working out.
Need to continue practising compound interest questions with changing repayment time periods and continue building independence and understanding regarding lump sum repayments. Also need to improve setting out of working out for different questions, especially for lengthy and complex math problems.
