I am a patient person. I have grown up in a family of seven and I believe patience is one of my strengths. I have time and do not expect the child to understand immediately as well as get it takes time. I am caring and kind and never make a child feel inadequate when they do not understand a concept. A vital aspect of tutoring is being non-judgemental. it is important for a tutor to make the student feel comfortable to share if they do not understand something or are struggling. If a student feels as if they will be judged or considered inadequate they are less likely to come to tutor’s for help. Building a strong relationship is extremely important and helps both the student and tutor feel more at ease.
