My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my main strengths as a tutor, at least in the field of maths, would be my knowledge of the field and, more importantly, patience! I think the tricky part about teaching maths is being able to relate abstract concepts (like calculus) to students in a way they can understand an appreciate. I've learnt how to do that through my Engineering studies - a big part of being a successful Engineer is being able to communicate ideas and concepts to people who may not even be Engineers themselves.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Be patient, understanding, and be encouraging! High school is not an easy thing, not just because of what you're learning but also because life must go on outside of school. University students face the same problem, so we know that not all days are great days. So as a tutor, you need to be supportive of your student where necessary, so that when a concept is particularly tricky, or when life makes study a little bit more difficult, you can still help your student do as well as they can.
