What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy satisfaction of being able to help the person I am tutoring, and sharing my knowledge to help them excel in their desired subjects. In the class that I teach, I love being able to see everyone grow from the start of the year to nearly the end of the year, knowing that I have been of significance to their academic learning and growth. Its through this that motivates me to keep going and carry out my tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my strengths as a tutor is patience. I understand each student learns at their own pace and has an unique approach to learning. So when I teach, I take as much time as the student needs to feel comfortable to learn. This ties in with my other strength of flexibility, as when explaining the same topic or concept to different students, I will use different methods to best simplify them in a way that suits the students' needs.
I believe I also have the self discipline to help the students to the best of my ability, regardless of how difficult it may be.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I consider being able to relate and understand where the student is coming from is the most important thing. Knowing why the student struggles to understand a concept will enable the tutor to formulate a method that would help clear their misunderstandings. This is not limited to not being able to understand the subject, but also to understand the students motivation and views towards their learning. For instance, if the student lacks interest or motivation to do their work, I will try my best to undermine this reason and create ways in which I can better engage with them to learn.

By now, Natalia is able to approach worded problems and is able to identify the required operation and solve them independently. She is able to break down questions to solve them. She is also very comfortable in performing operations with decimals as well as when it comes to multiplying and dividing by 10s, 100s, and 1000s etc.
In the future, it is possible that we extend her confidence into approaching questions that require multiple steps, as a way to increase the difficulty of her work.
