What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
With my informal experience as a tutor for my little sister, one of the things I enjoy most is the ability to share my knowledge. During my childhood, I always needed help with school work but lacked someone who would provide me with same support I give to my sister. Due to this, I cherish the moments where I can readily help younger students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
A personal strength I demonstrate that is needed in a tutor is being understanding. I consider this as a strength of mine as school, especially VCE years, are extremely stressful, and by finishing year 12 I have learnt to adopt new methods of studying to push myself into achieve academic goals. I believe that tutoring is more than delivering content, but also works with students to find a suitable way of studying and managing the overflowing workload.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a tutor it is important to identify a student's weaknesses and improve on these. Students, myself included, tend to neglect difficult concepts that they don't understand well. As a result, struggles with these questions on exams or tests. From personal experience, I have learnt to put time and effort into improving my weaknesses, thus I believe that a tutor must give the student support and encouragement that is needed to work on improving their weaknesses.
