What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
sharing the backstory/history of certain formula or process, since the modern day mathematics skills or chemical industrial process (such a calculus, polar scale, Haber's proceess etc.). This not only adds a bit of trivial knowledge for some rare occations, but also a greater insight into the thinking and proving process which allows a much thorough understanding instead of plainly reciting. Sometime a well ellaborated story can also ignite the students' interests, which can encourages them to delve in deeper independently.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Patience which allow me to maintain a balanced tempo that improves academic excellence which not creating stress or demotivation.
Familiar with the daily course work and tactics in exams.
Broad range of knowledge, expand beyond the coursework, adds a little comical relief and potentially evoke students' interests.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Empathy. There is a well-known term called the knowledge trap, where the idea of not knowing becomes unimaginable for someone so familiarized with a concept. Being aware of the fact that students are only getting started can prevent us from making the assumption of 'how do you not know this', instead, we can walk in their shoes and help build their knowledge from scratch: lay down or patch up the fundations that prepares them for their current course, tips about likely traps and bottlenecks, or approach the question through their method to understand their intricacy and flaws.
