What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most enjoyable part of tutoring is experiencing the growth of your student. Watching the transformation from an individual who lacks confidence and is unable to move forward in learning to one who enjoys learning and embraces it, is highly rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength as a tutor is I recognize that all individuals learn differently and have different styles of retaining information. Hence, I am adaptable and flexible in providing individualized instruction to all types of students. Another trait I hold is patients, and am able to push through the challenging experience of learning a new concept with students. I understand that this takes time and repetition, even as a teacher it can be hard to conceptualize what the student is thinking.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is build confidence in a student's learning. Great confidence leads to greater success in all areas of life and facilitates more comfortability to accept further learning.

I could really see an improvement in the speed at which Amelie took in the information of the process in which we do questions. Amelie smashed through simplifying, addition, and subtraction algebraic fractions.
Amelie needs some more practice on the expansion of algebraic equations with negatives. As she finds it hard to remember and understand how to deal with negative numbers. Once again this comes with practice and will become easier. I have set some of these questions in the booklet, which I put on Amelie's google drive.
Amelie had a strong understanding of visualizing these equations by plotting them on a number plane.

She should focus on her order of operations. Understanding the process of simplifying algebraic expressions needs practice. This is done by just doing more questions.
Amelie understood the topic of measurement fabulously. It is evident she has done some study on converting units and understands how to approach these questions.

Again Amelie needs to focus on the process of questions. She finds it hard to remember "what do I do next". This can be fixed by more repetition of questions and by asking herself why we complete the question the way we do. Also, I found that she makes silly mistakes often by doing simple addition or multiplication in her head. This can be fixed through more comfortability in using the calculator.

Amelie was great at understanding last week's content and it seems she has really understood Pythagoras and quadrilaterals. Amelie was also great at understanding factorizing by breaking down what is common in all the terms.
Expansion of algebra seemed more complex where the understanding of "like terms" needed more consolidation. Futher understanding of visualizing that questions are all very similar and follow similar patterns needs to be reinforced.
