What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe education is an essential right that should be accessible to everyone. As a tutor, I have the opportunity to cater to a student's learning style, I can support them to achieve their goals. I enjoy seeing improvements in both the students' grades as well as their outlook towards learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I endeavour to cultivate a healthy relationship with my students and check in with them regularly to ensure that they are understanding concepts. I cater my teaching according to the learning style of the student and support them in their academic journey. I also have a nurturing communication style that I believe makes a relaxed environment that is conducive to learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to improve their relationship with studying to the point where it does not seem like a chore or a less pleasurable way to spend time. I find that there is often a lot of pressure, stress and negative emotions associated with grades, and it detracts from the journey of learning. By creating an environment that is relaxed, I have helped many students to overcome their personal boundaries and build confidence in their ability to learn. I would love to continue to help more students with this through EzyMath tutoring.

Sammie was enthusiastic to learn, and seems to respond best when she is able to choose the material she wants to work through for the day. I will continue to do this while covering her class content.
Some important areas are requiring further revision. For example, Sammie would benefit from further revision of the first 12 timetables, geometry, and division skills. She may benefit from additional tutoring, extra homework or additional self-directed revision to help her with this. I will revisit this after we resume tutoring in 2023.
Sammie did not rely as much on me as a tutor to help her identify answers. She is definitely improving in terms of confidence. We will continue to work on this.

A few questions were not completed in the given homework. In the future, Sammie is encouraged to look back at the material covered to try and think of the answers to each assigned homework question. I will continue to help Sammie feel comfortable to express areas of doubt so that we can focus on these areas.
Sammie is improving in her ability to answer questions and is more open with her ideas.

I would like to continue to work with Sammie to improve her confidence and to encourage more "talking aloud" while working through problems and questions.
Sammie was able to understand the basics of the topics covered. She gained confidence throughout the session.

With time, I am hoping that Sammie will be able to articulate her methodology a little better.
