What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students gain confidence in their own abilities. Many students come into sessions feeling overwhelmed or unsure of themselves, and itโ€™s incredibly rewarding to watch their understanding grow and their mindset shift from โ€œI canโ€™t do thisโ€ to โ€œIโ€™ve got this.โ€ I also genuinely enjoy getting to know how each student learns. No two students think in the same way, and I find it deeply satisfying to adapt my teaching approach so that concepts finally โ€œclickโ€ for them. Being part of that moment of understanding, and knowing it will carry forward into their future learning, is what makes tutoring so meaningful to me.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

I am a Bachelor of Science student majoring in Psychology at the University of Melbourne, with a strong academic record and over four years of experience as a private tutor. Throughout my tutoring career, I have worked with students across a wide range of year levels and abilities, helping them build confidence, improve understanding, and achieve their academic goals. My tutoring style is structured, supportive, and highly adaptable. I focus on identifying each studentโ€™s individual learning needs and tailoring my approach accordingly, while ensuring lessons remain engaging and encouraging. I am passionate about fostering independent learning, strong study habits, and long-term academic growth, and I take pride in creating a positive and motivating learning environment for my students.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

The most important things I can do for a student are to build their confidence, provide clear and patient guidance, and create a supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I aim to help students develop strong foundational understanding, effective study habits, and independent problem-solving skills, so they are not just learning for the next test, but building tools they can use throughout their education. Above all, I believe in encouraging students to recognise their own potential and take ownership of their learning, which leads to long-term academic success and personal growth.

Testimonials ๐Ÿ†

Rochelle is a wonderful tutor for our daughter. She is able to communicate maths to Eleanor in a way that our daughter can relate to. She also makes learning fun and has a wealth of advice about learning strategies in general. Eleanor is enjoying learning with Rochelle and her confidence and ability have significantly improved.
