What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I never had professional experience in tutoring before, however, there have been many times where my peers and friends from school have asked me to help out with a maths question or help come up with ideas for an english essay. With this informal but frequent experience, I personally found it to be rewarding and satisfying seeing how my skills and knowledge has helped someone at ease with part of their learning. Additionally, I enjoy being challenged and thus, I love being able to actively be tested of my knowledge in the subject or topic!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths as a tutor are: patience, understanding and being clear. When it comes to assisting a student with a question, I find that I am able to understand what they are asking of me and from then on in my teaching or explaining, I carry out patience as it might not take one go for the other person to understand straight away. With the last strength of being clear, I believe that before I jump straight to explaining with no full thought, I make sure to compose an answer that is step by step especially for maths questions!
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to provide full support and undivided attention within their lesson times while also being understanding of their needs in learning. I have had my fair share of being tutored and I felt that my learning needs have been neglected at times when I ask I need assistance in a particular topic and so as a potential tutor, I would really want to make an effort to listen to my students needs and invest my own personal time setting up personalised lessons for them!
