What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy seeing my students grow both academically and mentally by tutoring them to strengthen their subject comprehension, build important learning skills, and help grow their confidence in their academic abilities. Tutoring can improve academic grades, build critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills, and increase familiarity with exam styled questions. I like how tutoring gives students the individualised attention they wouldn't otherwise receive in a crowded classroom. This benefits kids who have trouble keeping up and those who don't receive enough challenge.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths include active-listening, problem-solving and time management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely whilst offering critical constructive feedback. I am able to build a comfortable learning environment and I trust my students to actively use the methods that I teach.
Most important things I can do for a student π
One of the most important things that a tutor can do for their students is to build strong and personal relationships with their students. The more connected a student feels to their tutor, the more trustworthy and respectful the environment becomes β an essential aspect for students to learn well and progress academically. When a tutor listens and spends time building a relationship with their student, that tutor can truly personalise sessions and teach to the studentβs strengths and help minimise weaknesses. Alongside subject-specific lessons, tutors also help students develop other skills s
