What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing the gears become unclogged when they find a new perspective on a certain topic they’re not familiar with. The wide eyed look of how everything fits together after tinkering with different approaches to understanding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

From my experience from tutoring peers in debate, I find that I am good at finding someone’s weakness and have a strong sense of empathy that helps me understand what makes my mentees struggle.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I strongly believe that two things are the most important in a tutor: perspective and engagement. Perspective due to how different minds work at understanding, and how no approach fits all students. Engagement to engage their problem solving skills, to ensure that the key is understanding and refrain from relying on memory. As I find the difference to be significant when dealing with our own mind’s ability to comprehend a subject.
