I consider the most important things tutor's have to offer students is insight and wisdom into effective ways of thinking that help them to deal with the current challenges that they are facing in their studies and sometimes in their life. The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is support them in all aspects of their life, not just academia. By doing this, you build a strong yet professional relationship with the student, where there is mutual respect and trust. Following this, students are more inclined to listen, do homework and work hard. My strengths as a…

As a tutor, building both the confidence and understanding of the student is particularly crucial. In the end you want the student to be able to solve problems and answer questions on their own as they would in exams and by building that confidence and understanding, allows a direct path to doing their best. I am strongest in tutoring subjects…

The most important thing tutors can do is support their students which includes adapting lessons to individual learning styles and needs. Along with pinpointing any gaps in knowledge, and help the students understand those areas. Along with listening to them, about what things they struggle with and what they’re already good at. My strengths…

I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for students is to improve their confidence in their own abilities. Having confidence will equip them with the key tools to deal with fears and self-doubts, which are things that can significantly hinder the learning process. To do this, a tutor has to provide encouragements to students along…

There are many important things which a tutor needs to do and can do for a student, one of them being asking them about their understanding on certain topics which they’re struggling with, help them improve study habits, help them overcome academic obstacles as well as building confidence and push the need for academic progression! With my previous experience both as being a tutor and being tutored by someone else, I believe a tutor should pay a fundamental role in empowering students to take ownership of their learning. Beyond improving marks academically, it’s vital that a tutor can help develop their student’s confidence, motivation and learn study and time management…

Is to provide support, as I student I know it gets hard to understand what teachers are trying to say. A tutor is meant to simplify what is being taught in class and helping out the student to be prepared for their future adventures in an academic level. I am a talkative and hardworking person. I like getting things write and I feel like by doing…

Inside Warwick FarmTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Oliver practised converting decimals to fractions and percentages, and tackled basic algebraic problems from schoolwork.

In Year 8, Aryan explored foundational concepts in electricity using worksheets and reviewed electronics basics for science.

Meanwhile, Madison in Year 10 worked on mean, median, and standard deviation calculations in maths before shifting focus to analysing poems and developing writing skills for English assignments.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 mathematics, skipping written steps in complex algebra led to repeated sign errors; as a tutor noted, "writing out all his working helps him slow down and see the correct solution."

In a Year 8 geometry lesson, confusion arose when identifying corresponding angles—insufficient note-taking habits made it hard to recall proofs.

For a primary student, reluctance to complete maths homework meant gaps in basic division persisted week-to-week.

One Year 10 student lost momentum during multi-step problems, with focus drifting after initial confidence faded. This left questions half-finished and core concepts unrevised by the end of each session.

Recent Achievements

A Warwick Farm tutor noticed one high school student who previously hesitated to ask for help now regularly checks his understanding by asking clarifying questions during electronics lessons, showing much more active engagement than before.

Another older student struggled with quadratic equations earlier in the term but has started using a systematic approach to convert worded problems into algebraic equations and can now solve them independently, even remembering to include units in his answers.

In a recent primary session, Maximus, who often mixed up number sequences, was able to recognise the correct order of single-digit numbers on his own without extra prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Liverpool City Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Warwick Farm Public School.
