Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Allawah, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Allawah English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
With Kate this month I focused on note taking, back checking, and seeking understanding learning strategies. These are to help her to think through the problems and formulate a mental process for her to go through as she is working out problems. Also, these help to understand the concepts better as with using clock faces and times.
As always I am very happy with Coopers attitude, effort and work habits. I have not set much homework for him this much as with the return of his regular teacher he has more than enough content for him to go through. My only concern with regards to attitude, effort and work habits is that his Teacher told him that it is not okay to get a head start on his Math before his class as this may incentivize him to only do the minimum that is required of him.
- Fractions: we will continue to touch on this with algebra and other topics as well - Lazy thinking: he sometimes gets into the habit of forgetting things, but after a reminder, he picks it up. I would suggest that he could come into class with a bottle of water or something to keep him focused. We will continue to develop problem-solving in the meantime, I will take him through problem-solving with a number of topics to get him used to the format.

Anthony sat his final Maths exam today and I would like to thank you and especially Jonathan for his efforts and restoring confidence in my son's ability in sitting his exam.
Stella did an excellent job tutoring Tori for her HSC and at this stage we think she did reasonably well in the exam
I want to thank you so much, as Zoe has been so amazing. Ella has loved learning from her and I hope that if we come back next year we can request her.
