Struggling academically while seeing others succeed can feel disheartening. It may seem as though "successful students" have it easy, as if solutions just pop into their head. Seeing the cycle of success cycling round and round for others can seem like natural talent. Geniuses do exist but most successful students are just normal people who have somehow learned how to succeed academically. Good news! Success leaves clues. Good news! Success leaves clues. These students tend to be prepared, to do their homework & regular revision. They focus on comprehension not on memorization. Most importantly they have growth mindset not a fixed mindset - failures are an opportunity for growth not proof of inadequacy.
Whatever your goals, the right attitude and the right study habits will help. A good tutor can do much more than just teach the content. They can help your child learn to be a better student, to develop a growth mindset and establish their own cycle of success. When you use Ezy Math to find a tutor this is what you're getting.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Gabby is encouraged to continue to work hard so that improvements are made, especially when trying to remember the specific methods to questions. Talking aloud more during lessons will help me to understand the thought processes and correct where necessary. Gabby should try not to rely on doing working out in her head. Rather, she should make sure to write as much working out down on the page so nothing is forgotten in the process of answering a question.
This month I have seen Lola working with our structured plan for exam preparation outside of our lesson time, completing more work than she has previously. Despite not sticking to the plan rigidly, it has allowed her to get through more work than she would have otherwise and provided a method of reflection and goal-setting. She seems to have struggled with how to work effectively in class since she is taking a different exam and thus covering different content to the rest of her class.
Some of Jakes' areas that still require some improvement include: - Working out what the question is really asking and focusing on the relevant information, specifically when it is given in a mathematical format; however, he seems to be able to find this without much trouble from written/word problems - focusing on work and not daydreaming/ forgetting quickly what we learnt/ looking at the wrong question - just generally remembering the steps/ order of steps
Jamie has said he thinks the maths tutoring is good and feels more confident in maths tests at school. He seems to have a positive attitude towards his maths tutoring sessions and responds well to Cal's patient and encouraging approach.
Lauren and Caitlin have got off to a good start. Lauren is very understanding of Caitlin's needs and has worked really hard on preparing her for her first term Math exam. Caitlin has already built some confidence knowing she will do better ( after starting with Lauren). She also knows it is only early days. Lauren is very good at explaining things at a Caitlin level.
Andres is doing a fantastic job, he has a great rapport with Rio and is incredibly professional in his approach. Thank you for providing Rio with such a wonderful maths tutor.
