Even if they've started out well, tackled science in lower grades with a good attitude, even if they've made a switch to Year 11 Chemistry easily, more often than not students hit a wall when it comes to Year 12 chemistry. This is when they need all the support they can get.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
-Talk aloud is good, but be careful it doesn't turn into second-guessing yourself (same as back checking) -Putting pen to paper pretty good, just watch communication skills (writing equal signs, making everything legible especially when cancelling in fractions) -Remember that it takes several times seeing a concept before you understand it - not getting the idea (especially with tricky concepts like in sequences and series or index laws) straight away does not mean you are bad at maths
He always has a positive attitude and is willing to learn at each session He has given 100% effort at both the tutor sessions as well as for additional questions that were given to him he has begun working methodically and writing out neat and clear solutions.
It was fairly good for the first month of tutoring. When we were doing 2 hours session, Shakira seemed a bit distracted towards the end of the session. This is only normal. Other than that, I have not encountered with any of the problem areas in working with her. In terms of Maths skills, she still struggles with subtraction, addition and multiplication of more than two-digit numbers. I am focusing and will focus on doing more of such problems during Matheletics assignment.
My child was tutored by Kelsi last year and she was a absolutely amazing. Always punctual, she ensured my child throughly learnt his content. My child wasn't a big fan of maths however kelsi managed to articulate the concepts in such a way that was simple and easy to understand that my child is now not afraid of maths but loves it !
