What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Helping students to achieve their full potential. Sometimes it can be a struggle to understand certain topics, and that can often to lead to students feeling down and demotivated. With tutoring, you are able help these students overcome that barrier. So, not only can tutoring help the students academically but maybe even with their confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Admittedly, I have never tutored, so I am unable to make a comment based on past experiences. However, I am able to understand how frustrating certain topics can be (I was never the best at math as a teenager). So with this, I am able to be patient with the student and guide them slowly to understanding the topics at hand.
Furthermore, I tend to work more creatively and visually, through use of diagrams and allegories. Meaning I am able to better translate walls of text into easily digestible chunks.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor needs to teach a student, obviously. But more importantly, a tutor needs to empower a student. To make them break through barriers they wouldn’t have thought were possible, to achieve their potential, plus a little more.
Tutors should also be more personalised, not so just a second teacher. Tutors should recognise why this specific student is requiring assistance on this topic and tackle these setbacks. They should make sure the students goes beyond memorisation and into application, to understand why we teach these topics.

Expertise in the Sciences
Having completed a Bachelor's of Molecular Sciences (majoring in Nutritional Biochemistry), and currently pursuing a Master's in the same speciality, Manar has a complex understanding of human sciences. Despite this, she has studied and tackled many other fields including: Physics and Psychology at a university level, making her well suited to adapt to many subjects
Teamwork and Leadership Skills
Manar has been a part of her high school's student council, as well as being involved in numerous leadership tutorials (such as the ABCN Goals Program). She has experience organising events and guiding guests. She is able to take initiative and be spontaneous, if needed.
Creative Endeavours
In addition to her knowledge in the sciences and maths, Manar also writes short stories in her free time. She has a strong grasp on the way language flows in creative writing, and her peers have congratulated her for her prose. With this, she is able to assist those struggling in English. Additionally, Manar has a keen eye for picking up subtext and analysing creative media.

She was able to answer many of the questions in the paper independently with greater detail than before. She seems to understand how conventions are used and what they mean in film a bit better than in novels.
She can really benefit from watching more films and visual media. Score/Audio is a very important technique (and gives good straightforward marks) but she wasn't sure what the different types of scores/sounds denoted. I think she should really tighten on what the definitions for all the techniques are; she mentioned there were a lot and she gets overwhelmed by it; but having a good understanding of just the most important ones can go a long way

-Understands what to look for, but not what the terminology associated with it is called. I gave her a glossary for her first lesson and I recommended she look at it more -While she can pick up annotations, she doesn't know what to do with them, or how to use them in her responses. I think that is her biggest weakness

- She is getting better at remembering definitions, though work still needs to be done - She seems to be aware of her faults, but doesn't seem to improve on them much. - She did say she felt confident after her test on Friday
- Looking at her past tests, it seems like spelling is a major issue. Proofreading goes a long way. - Getting the evidence is one thing; knowing how to use it is another. The evidence she used in her essays is rather irrelevant and doesn't address the question a lot. - Very much would benefit from looking at the Good Answers Guide I emailed her and seeing how a model essay would be written, as she seems stuck on how to go about things sometimes.
- she was able to write notes faster the second time (she started use dot point form instead of sull sentences)

- still needs practise with her planning. needs a lot of encouragement and gets lost easily in the planning phase- - really needs more writing practise as she siad its hard for her to start
