Chemistry can seem a bit technical. It's all abstract formulas and content that seems impossible to learn and barely manageable to memorise. The material keeps piling up and how are students supposed to truly learn anything when they're constantly missing something and falling behind?
And it's not only about the grades. Sure, students who struggle with chemistry want to pass that test and get their grades up. It's usually their only end goal and that's completely understandable. However, we've found that once students start catching up and chemistry doesn't seem like such an enormous hurdle, their self-confidence improves as well.
When they have someone to guide them, make sense of the clutter of information and demands, students tend to struggle less in other areas as well. Your child could feel less anxious about tests and their performance, learn how to tackle tough situations and become more independent, all with the help of a local Heathridge chemistry tutor.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I have used multiple strategies to aid Oliver such as talking aloud, back checking, self questioning, format skills, and seeking understanding. Not al of these strategies have been as successful as others but will continue to implement them and improve on them.
Max is very passionate about maths and learning new concepts. He sometimes may feel pessimistic when he can't understand something but this is usually resolved by practice. Max always completes his homework and other tasks. Max usually follows my teaching and writes in conjunction with me. This is easier for me to teach as he is "learning by doing" which is essential in a course that requires both understanding and practice.
We are slowly working together to fix his knowledge gaps in some harder additions and subtractions, as well as continually emphasising and going over his times tables. He has difficulties with some larger additions, reading the question, larger times tables and some fraction questions.

Jaz and Emily seem to be connecting well and we are happy with how things are progressing to date.
John has been an amazing tutor for my son. John restored my son's confidence in his ability to do maths and prepared him for Year 12 exams.I cannot recommend his work highly enough, as he did everything we asked of him and more.
Lauren seems to be going well and most importantly is engaging with Steph and feeling better about Maths in general. We are very happy with Steph so far. She is a lovely girl who is always punctual and the communication between us is excellent. And I think Lauren looks forward to her sessions with Steph, which can only be a positive!
