Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Blakiston chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Pamu talks aloud during our sessions and this makes it easy for me to see where he understands or not. As we are covering areas he has not yet covered in school, some of these learning strategies are not applicable, but he does asks me questions whenever he does not fully understand a topic.
Catherine has been completing all of her homework, but I would like to see attempts for every single question. I would like to start being more strict with having Catherine attempt all questions in her homework, as this will carry on into her attempting all questions in her exams.
I encourage Hamish to implement pen to paper more often. He will often attempt a question without writing working out which will very often lead to careless errors as well as it is easy to get confused.
El-Abed is tutoring Faith in Maths, he has understood & targeted her multiple gaps in Maths. El-Abed has a great attitude & it appears Faith is keeping focused. Also after two sessions Faith has said its helping.
Deepti has a really nice working relationship with my daughter. She feels comfortable with her and enjoys her maths classes.
Deepti is working with my daughter for more than a year as her Tutor. The great strength of Deepti is the trust relationship that she develop with the students, so they feel comfortable to open up and get the guidelines she share and teach. My daughter was definitely improved her math, but more important improved her confident and approach to math.
