No wonder most students get overwhelmed and start memorising instead of understanding the concepts. Or worse, they just give up.
We've heard it time and time again, you’ve probably heard it too. Some students connect everything as they go, but some are just stuck. This kind of attitude can lead to poor grades, but it can also lead to a crack in your child's self-esteem.
So what can you do?
The truth is - everyone struggles. Some might get there easier or quicker, but everyone struggles at some point. We know that and the Bokarina chemistry tutors we work with know that, too.
All it takes is a bit of guidance by someone who's been there before. Someone who can foster the right attitude and study habits, but most importantly, someone who clicks with your child - a tutor who truly cares about your child's needs and goals.
That's what we do.
We find tutors and organise one-on-one chemistry tutoring in Bokarina, at your home or any other place that works for you.
There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate. You don't like the tutor? No need to worry, the first lesson comes as a free trial and we find you a better match. Simple as that.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Tim has only made positive progress on his "learning skills". He has excellent formatting skills, is good at putting pen to paper, and he is seems to have a plan for most problems that he can verbalise which is a great skill. It is still important to do this while studying alone / in the classroom. However, I have no evidence he is not doing this, just a little reminder. If he continuances to practice these techniques he will rarely encounter any blockades on more difficult questions.
She is a nice student with a pleasing attitude. Her efforts are different from my other students. She is always in a situation of not wasting any time and utilizes the time very nicely. If she maintains her work habits on consistent basis success is a done deal for her.
Ash has caught to her school's progress quite well for the past month, I would say she is almost on top of all her school work. She slightly struggles to adapt the content to actual questions, especially with worded questions. I plan to continue to incoporate as much extended response questions during our lessons, so Ash can get comfortable around them in the future
We have no doubt the extra tutoring with Mina got Jamison over the line for a solid band 6.
Tahlia and Jonah are getting along very well so far and Tahlia appears to be taking on board the information that Jonah is giving her. Tahlia is enjoying her tutoring sessions and it doesn't feel like an hour to her.
Dorcas is a very patient tutor, she has lots of experience and is good with children. She is willing to go the extra mile and my son has been improving under her guidance.
