No wonder most students get overwhelmed and start memorising instead of understanding the concepts. Or worse, they just give up.
We've heard it time and time again, you’ve probably heard it too. Some students connect everything as they go, but some are just stuck. This kind of attitude can lead to poor grades, but it can also lead to a crack in your child's self-esteem.
So what can you do?
The truth is - everyone struggles. Some might get there easier or quicker, but everyone struggles at some point. We know that and the Brightwaters chemistry tutors we work with know that, too.
All it takes is a bit of guidance by someone who's been there before. Someone who can foster the right attitude and study habits, but most importantly, someone who clicks with your child - a tutor who truly cares about your child's needs and goals.
That's what we do.
We find tutors and organise one-on-one chemistry tutoring in Brightwaters, at your home or any other place that works for you.
There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate. You don't like the tutor? No need to worry, the first lesson comes as a free trial and we find you a better match. Simple as that.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
The student sought understanding towards mathematical concepts discussed in lessons. Work was done in his book, questions and notes were written in this book along with being answered the students own writing to ensure there is an adequate transfer of knowledge. If mistakes were made, backchecking was encouraged and corrections were applied promptly.
Eleanor is really starting to take control of her learning - she can identify the topics that she struggles with and asks for very specific assistance. She still gets worried about her perceived lack of understanding occasionally, but she can now make a plan for fixing the gap in her knowledge (see Jess, talk to a friend, look it up in the text book...). I'm really impressed with how dedicated she is to improving her understanding.
Tends to struggle during word problems. She needs to avoid rule dependence and lazy thinking by developing the ability to break down and pick out key information in order to understand a question. Also needs work in developing better study habits and seek understanding in order not to forget work already covered eg equivalent fractions and measurement.
