Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through VCE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Bunkers Hill to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Bunkers Hill chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
No severe problems with style of learning. The only comments would be to have clear, visible steps in calculations. Avoid Rule Dependency (ARD): need to have confidence in your own answer; without verification
Ashleigh can be a very quiet person, which does sometimes make communication difficult. Nevertheless she is very open to new concepts and is pleasant to work with Ashleigh obviously puts in a lot of effort both inside and outside of our sessions, she is mostly very attentive and absorbs information quickly Ashleigh is a very organised student, both in her layout and in her commitment to homework.
Some gaps in content stem from the preliminary course and include areas such as statistics and probability. Some problem areas include interpreting graphs, probability (financial expectation), distribution and standard deviation and financial mathematics.
Rohini had really got Alex over the line and has boosted her confidence greatly. Instead of a low D she is now a mid range B and is feeling a lot happier.
Tutor sessions with Hamish has been good. Tevita advised he feels a lot more confident with his maths. Sessions with Hamish have definitely been beneficial for Tevita leading up to his Exam, which was today.
The tutoring is going well. Amy has told me that she is already understanding more and it's helping.
