Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Cardiff chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Kieran is making steady progress on his learning strategies. There's still room for improvement, in particular in the areas of back checking, avoiding rule dependence, avoiding lazy thinking and self questioning.
She is enthusiastic when I arrive, always has a smile on her face when I'm teaching her something. She's always excited to learn new things, always asks me to give her more challenging problems. She concentrates really well. Sometimes I feel like I can see her brain training her thoughts. She gets distracted quite easily between problems, but she concentrates on the one question well and doesn't move on until she's answered it correctly.
Markus is up to date with current school work; algebra and indices. Although he is above many students in terms of algebra and sensitivity with numbers, he needs work in problem solving skills.
So far all is going well , Andrew is fantastic and easy to communicate with. We have had three sessions so far and this term he will be working on the next unit of work rather than just exam revision.
All seems to be going well with Jared. We are overseas at the moment so have put tutoring on hold. Griffin said he likes Jared and is keen to continue tutoring, he said Jared is incredibly smart and always takes time to explain to him. We were worried as Griff seemed to be really attached to Nick and couldn't believe you would have someone as good to replace him. Where do you find these amazing young men?
I know it is only early days but Harley and Owen seem to have '˜clicked'. They are working really well and not only is Harley's confidence growing but also his understanding of the maths chapters they have been studying has improved. I no longer have to hassle him to do his homework - always a bonus!
