No wonder most students get overwhelmed and start memorising instead of understanding the concepts. Or worse, they just give up.
We've heard it time and time again, you’ve probably heard it too. Some students connect everything as they go, but some are just stuck. This kind of attitude can lead to poor grades, but it can also lead to a crack in your child's self-esteem.
So what can you do?
The truth is - everyone struggles. Some might get there easier or quicker, but everyone struggles at some point. We know that and the Carrington chemistry tutors we work with know that, too.
All it takes is a bit of guidance by someone who's been there before. Someone who can foster the right attitude and study habits, but most importantly, someone who clicks with your child - a tutor who truly cares about your child's needs and goals.
That's what we do.
We find tutors and organise one-on-one chemistry tutoring in Carrington, at your home or any other place that works for you.
There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate. You don't like the tutor? No need to worry, the first lesson comes as a free trial and we find you a better match. Simple as that.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Not much difference from last month - Jamison is communicative with me, he asks questions and does not wait until I ask him what's wrong. Jamison is not shy, and knows that it is okay to be wrong. He learns from his mistakes, although he tends to forget it when I ask him some other time.
The student is concerned about doing well in tests as gaps with current curriculum existed in early days. Works well during sessions and makes noticeable progress. Confident about recent test. Works well during sessions. Seems not to be given much homework. This can be alleviated by issuing reasonable amounts of homework.
Exposure to more questions. More than simply what is given to her. She needs to try other questions to be able to understand a range of differently formulated questions. Setting equations and working out so that it is easy to mark.
Priya has made a very positive start with her tutoring with Abdullah. He is very good at explaining concepts and seemed to understand Priya's needs very quickly. We are very happy with Abdullah.
Kai and Ben are getting on greatly. Kai had a big win last week. He went from 53% on a maths test to 88%! He received champ of the month award and a chocolate bar! He was thrilled! We are starting to see the results now. Thank you Ben for everything!
