I’d say my biggest strengths are patience, adaptability, and clear communication. I’m good at breaking complex topics down into manageable steps and finding the specific point where a student got stuck, rather than just re-explaining everything. I’m also a strong listener — I pay attention to how a student is thinking, not just whether…

The most important thing a tutor can do is create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and expressing difficulties. This ensures the student is able to get the most out of the session and tutors are able to address such difficulties making, creating a conducive learning environment.…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to make sure the student enjoys and has the desire to learn the topic. This will ensure moral and motivation for the student and the tutor as they will both learn more about the subject and the students learning habits respectively. my strengths would be my organisation ability. I can resource things for…

The most important factor of being a tutor is patience and compassion; an understanding that not all students learn and retain knowledge in the same way and a willingness to cater teaching methods to each child's needs. I think my patience and passion for the job are my greatest strengths as it allows me to get through to the kids and make a good…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be receptive to their individual learning needs and deliver their subject material in a way that is best suited to it. The one on one attention can be extremely beneficial for students that may require extra help. I am good at explaining coomplicated concepts througj simple language,…

The most important thing is to make sure the student enjoys doing the subject. Tutoring should be fun, engaging and progressive rather than just an additional class of work and stress. A tutor should be able to see whether their students are improving in their skills, if not, I will change my teach materials or methods until I find one that suits…

Firstly, a tutor should be able to see how a child learns and his/her capabilities and then tailor their teaching to their needs accordingly. This way the students chances of academic success are maximised as their learning is effective. Another thing I believe is a tutor should also help the child increase their confidence in their ability and…

The most important thing I would say, would be to cater to each student's unique method of learning. There are many ways of digesting information and of understanding, many students struggle in school because they are forced to fit into only one or two ways of studying and learning, which may not be the most helpful for them. I as a tutor, pay…

Build their confidence alongside their competence, those two move together. A student who understands the material but panics under pressure hasn't fully learned it. The other big one is teaching them how to think through a problem independently, so they need you less over time, not more. I'm good at diagnosing why someone is stuck, not just what…

The most valuable thing is to give constant feedback and a plethora of resources for the student to access to best support them with their school work. I know without a doubt that EzyMaths has a great range of resources, and as a possible tutor, I will make it my priority to tailor these resources based on each student's needs, in every class I…

I believe that the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to first serve as a reliable and effective source of information that the student can use to comfortably learn the content at a pace that suits them and have the ability to ask for aid in any way they need, but to also help students develop a strong and healthy relationship…

I believe there are a few things a tutor must do to be a good tutor. Firstly the tutor must understand that every student is different and teaching must be customised in a way to keep your student’s concentration while developing a genuine interest in the subject, soo that lessons doing become a chore. Next, preparation is key. Lastly a tutor…

I believe a tutor should be a mentor, someone the student can relate to and feel comfortable expressing their problems to, but should also be assertive and draw the line between being professional and being a friend. I think a tutor should do her best to teach the student to the best of his/her abilities, even if that means going slightly over…

The most important things a tutor can do to a student is to not teach, but to make them understand what is being taught, and thereby boost their confidence. Merely parroting out concepts to students would get the job done, but will not help the student understand any better, or feel any more confident. Instead, understanding where the student is…

Help them clear their doubts. Be prepared to answer any questions they ask. try to answer their questions after class hours as soon as possible. Be a good role model for them. Building a fundamental understanding of the student as a person is pivotal in terms of successful tutoring. Thoroughly forming a foundational knowledge of the student individually will allow a tutor to tinker their approach to structuring and running classes in an attempt to best cater for the student's needs. Likewise, this is likely to introduce…

Local Reviews

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. The tutors themselves have made a big difference to my son's school performance and have always been reliable, knowledgeable, relatable and friendly. Highly Recommend.

Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
