Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Churchill chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Sarah picks up new concepts very quickly and is able to answer questions once shown a similar example and even apply her knowledge to more difficult questions. She also has good confidence when answering questions on topics she's familiar with. However, she does sometimes need a push to do the question in her workbook and also to check her working. Her format skills are good and she sets out her solutions very neatly.
Brad worked well this month, completing questions for homework that I had asked him to do and always trying hard during sessions. I do feel that he needs to put more effort into study outside of school and tutoring.
For Amber, her biggest challenge is performing under test conditions. When in tests she struggles to remember and apply key concepts despite having the knowledge and capability. We have been working on this, and have seen some improvement, However she is easily thrown if the questions are differently presented to in the test compared to what was seen previously.
Mo was a fantastic tutor for my son,Joe. She was patient and adjusted her her teaching pace according to Joe's needs in the various areas that needed work. Mo explained everything carefully and made sure Joe fully understood everything without making him feel uncomfortable. Joe and I are so grateful for her help and I will be sure to call on her again if the need arises.
Yes, Isabel was a good choice , they get on well, and Freya says that she is good at explaining things in a way she can understand.
