Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through WACE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Clarkson to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Clarkson chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I have been making sure Kaden uses the talking aloud strategy to allow myself to understand the way he interprets the questions and from this process, I have been able to see that Kaden doesn't read the question carefully enough and skims over important trigger words in questions. I have also made sure Kaden writes out all of his working, however with his homework he gets a bit lazy with it. Over the past few months, Kadens confidence with answering problems has improved.
Keira tells me she enjoys challenges and when the problem gets challenging she takes a step back and loses confidence. She puts in the work and has a positive attitude and I look forward to continue working with her to help her understand more about mathematics.
Abi generally was struggling with doing maths with negative and positive numbers, this has therefore made it difficult as she got through algebra. Her understanding has improved but we will work on it more until she is 100% confident. She also struggled with the like terms concept in algebra but after going over it each lesson she has understood it and can apply it confidently.
All is progressing fine at present and we are happy with Raymond's tutoring. Patrick has warmed to him also and we see him asking a lot more questions than he would ask normally.
We are very happy with Phanidah, he is very nice and patient and seems to teach Emily effectively. Emily likes him and already seems to have a more positive outlook with her maths. We are happy overall that the one-on-one tutoring allows Emily to relax about 'not knowing it' so she can truly go back to basics with Phanidah and build slowly from there.
Ashleigh is really enjoying the help Sunny is giving her & is starting to feel more confident within herself. Apparently even her teacher has remarked on her improvement. Ashleigh is keen to continue tutoring for the rest of the year. Sunny is a great tutor & matched perfectly with Ashleigh.
