Learning science takes a lot of effort. Students not only need to know the content, but how they can use concepts, when they can use them and why it's the right approach in a given situation.
Scientific thinking isn't easily acquired, but the skills are useful across fields and many future careers are built on them. It's a fascinating field with many applications - that's why students choose to put in the time and learn it.
Most students manage to stay afloat or even excel at physics all on their own, they master most steps along the way. However, sooner or later everyone needs help.
Learning how to analyse and solve problems as physicists do is an enormous leap. So how can you get involved and make it just a bit easier for your child?
One way to lift the burden off your child's shoulders is finding someone who will be there when they need it. If they have someone they can relate to, with the right approach at the right time, students tend to achieve their goals easier.
This is how to get started.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Charlotte is good at learning through examples. She is good at taking notes. She also writes out her answers to questions in a logical manner. As I have only had one lesson with Charlotte there isn't much I can report, however she is definitely on the right track and has the right attitude to succeed in Maths.
Abigayle always shows a positive work ethic completing her homework and all assigned class work. Her behavior has also improved and while she does get distracted at times the frequency of this is far less than what it was.
Archana does not have any significant problem areas or gaps. It would be beneficial to continue consolidating her ability to convert different units of measurements using the worksheets I have provided her.
Jaz and Emily seem to be connecting well and we are happy with how things are progressing to date.
John has been an amazing tutor for my son. John restored my son's confidence in his ability to do maths and prepared him for Year 12 exams.I cannot recommend his work highly enough, as he did everything we asked of him and more.
Lauren seems to be going well and most importantly is engaging with Steph and feeling better about Maths in general. We are very happy with Steph so far. She is a lovely girl who is always punctual and the communication between us is excellent. And I think Lauren looks forward to her sessions with Steph, which can only be a positive!
