No wonder most students get overwhelmed and start memorising instead of understanding the concepts. Or worse, they just give up.
We've heard it time and time again, you’ve probably heard it too. Some students connect everything as they go, but some are just stuck. This kind of attitude can lead to poor grades, but it can also lead to a crack in your child's self-esteem.
So what can you do?
The truth is - everyone struggles. Some might get there easier or quicker, but everyone struggles at some point. We know that and the Coldstream chemistry tutors we work with know that, too.
All it takes is a bit of guidance by someone who's been there before. Someone who can foster the right attitude and study habits, but most importantly, someone who clicks with your child - a tutor who truly cares about your child's needs and goals.
That's what we do.
We find tutors and organise one-on-one chemistry tutoring in Coldstream, at your home or any other place that works for you.
There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate. You don't like the tutor? No need to worry, the first lesson comes as a free trial and we find you a better match. Simple as that.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Jerry has put significant effort into organising his subjects into 1 page summaries. We have discussed being more pragmatic given the proximity of exams, so when short of time practising questions beats making organised notes. I've recommended making scrappier notes whilst working on questions, and if he feels like he has time he can arrange them better later.
This month Isabella has put in a lot of effort and has had a more positive attitude during lessons. Isabella's work habits require some attention in terms of refining formatting and process work, but otherwise are progressing well.
Jack still has some problems with memorising a couple of the formulas we use and some of the processes that are used to approach particular questions. I plan to start helping him organise some more detailed notes to improve his memory. Jack also can have trouble identifying some of the tricks regularly used in questions, which he will improve with further practice.
We are very happy with Terence , James seems to be making good progress at getting the basics of his 3 unit course. Terence is very calm, methodical and can simplify maths steps/working and James is responding very well to Terence's teaching style! Terence so far is very knowledgeable on the maths topics James is covering in class. Terence has also been very flexible & accommodating with postponing/adding lessons as required which we are very appreciative. We have been very pleased with our experience with tutoring so far!
Cohen has been very good and encouraging. I feel that Olivia is starting to feel more confident with her maths. Thanks.
Everything is going well with Warit. Evan is happy with him so far. I trust that will continue. He's comfortable to ask if he doesn't understand something. Warit has given Evan some good maths tips with his times tables that Evan has understood.
