What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Having been exposed to customer service most of my working life and currently studying to be a high school teacher in Business, SOSE & Studies of Religion, I have realised that I have an affinity for working directly with people. Tutoring does not only offer me the opportunity to meet new people but also provide a service that can better influence the direction a student may take in their future careers.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am confident in tutoring all subjects. With a commerce degree under my belt and currently undertaking a theology degree, I have become well-equipped in writing business reports, literature reviews and academic essays.
Whether it be in my work or in group assignments, I have always applied the following steps in striving towards a goal: firstly, listening to assess a person's understanding or opinion, observe their approach to the task and then lastly, adapt my approach accordingly. The aim of teaching is to establish an effective means of communication whilst also acknowledging that this can be different with every person. I hope to apply this method with my students as well as improve my own ability as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Throughout my tertiary studies, I have found that the key to learning anything is finding the point of interest for a person and developing that area so that the subject as a whole becomes enjoyable. For any student, progress will naturally vary and giving them that support and encouragement to persevere and overcome hurdles in their learning is, I believe, the goal of any tutor for their students.
