Finding a suitable maths tutor for your child can be difficult. Where do you start? What do you look for? Experience? Personality? Someone local? Should they teach their own content or work on your child's current school work? How often should you have tutoring? How long should each session be? Is a particular time of the day more effective than other times? So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. Tuition is an individual matter. It's really about finding someone who is a good match for your specific situation. That means a good personality match + a teaching style that matches the student's learning style + a good balance between empathy and authoritativeness + many other things.
Unfortunately no tutor profile can tell you if the tutor will be a good match. You won't know that until you see them working together.
It usually doesn't take us more than a few days to organise a maths tutor in Darlington. And, we really want you to love your tutor! That's why your first lesson works as a trial. Don't think the match is good? We'll organise someone else...

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I've tried to use the talk aloud and backchecking method with Emdad. I think that these two methods will definitely help Emdad in the future as sometimes he can be quick to answer questions which may make him prone to making mistakes. Therefore, these two methods should aid Emdad in this future studies.
As mentioned above, CJ is shy and when he does get a question wrong, he backs away and starts to get insecure. When he does get the question right you can see that he starts to feel a lot better about the topic and we fly through it most of the time.
He is very quick when it comes to understanding new concepts. Although his main weakness is basic arithmetic. When I sometimes ask him "What's 9 - 4?" and he will think for a couple of seconds and say something like "3?" and I'll let him know it's close, then he just ends up guessing all the numbers. It is also vital that he catches upon times tables as kids in his year are required to know till at least 8 or 9 times table.
Laura has definitely gotten Diana to a great start. She eagerly anticipates her tutoring and is seeming to take more interest in Maths especially in the strands that she did not feel very confident about. Diana has told me that Laura's explanations are easily understood and is simplified which makes it easy to remember. She also explains various strategies that can be used for problem solving which is good for time management when attempting to solve problems in class. Diana is able to use the notes taken during tutoring in class which is assisting with her understanding of the relevant strand or concept.
Things are going really well. Emily is a lovely young woman who has engaged well with my daughter. Tia feels comfortable with her and is learning new skills. It is great. Thanks once again for such wonderful service and professionalism. It is such a change to receive follow up and genuine interest in the service provided . Your company is to be commended!!
We asked for assistance on a short term basis to help with some exam preparation. Our tutor was quickly able to assess our daughter's capability and provide practical assistance with problem solving and techniques. Most importantly the tutor instilled real confidence in our daughter's ability, offering encouragement, support and reinforcement all the way. We would not hesitate to contact Ezy Math for our future needs.
