We have all had the experience of a "bad teacher" and we know it's not pleasant. Often the teacher is simply a bad match for that particular student rather than being a "bad teacher" in general but in either case the student has a serious problem. This is why many parents contact us for a private tutor - their child just can't "get it" when their teacher is teaching. It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that...

It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that "aha" feeling we all love so much! It is really a matter of getting the "right" tutor and not the "best" one. We see this every day in our work. A tutor might have hundreds of hours of experience and might have received dozens of testimonials from students, however, even such a tutor doesn't click with all students. Every tutor gets bad feedback sometimes. It's all about getting the right fit and this is what we do!
We will organise a 1-on-1 maths tutor in Deakin to come to your home at a time of your choosing. They will be a local Deakin maths tutor so scheduling lessons will be easy. Also, no booking fees, no minimum terms, no cancellation costs, no nonsense! And here's the best thing: your first lesson is a trial. So if you feel that the tutor wasn't a good fit, we'll organise someone else. It's our Good Fit Guarantee.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Abi is getting used to the idea of writing down all her steps while solving a problem. This should definitely help her during her tests/exams. My aim is to focus on her correcting her own work without relying on whether I point out a mistake during our sessions.
Rory treats every tutorial session with energy and concentrates very hard on his work. He tries very hard and gathers concepts being taught rather quickly such as index laws. While he can get discouraged he is quick to try again and I am very impressed so far.
The key objective is developing Isabella's confidence with her maths ability and changing her negative inner belief and self-doubts about her maths capability. I think this will require Isabella spending much more time practising maths to develop her maths competency and lead to improved academic (maths) results.
We are very Happy with our tutor Isabelle and communicate directly with her about our and her availability. We have only one session left this year as Isabelle and /or India will be unavailable after that. We hope Isabelle can continue to coach India from the second week of term 1 2015 when India starts high school
We met Aprinder, and he is a delightful young man, and he gets on well with our daughter Rebecca. She likes how he has so many different ways to show her how to solve a problem! I do understand that it will take some time until we see results, but I have a good feeling that she will excel down the track! Thank you for your prompt service.
We have been extremely happy with Mihika. Luca has always been a good Maths student but we felt that he needed a little push on year 7 to get him into good habits & not get behind. We feel that with the help of Mihika he had been able to achieve this. We will make sure to recommend your service to anyone looking for tutoring services Thank you
