Tutor Dudley Park, WA
Education is incredibly important. I believe that a tutor who understands and helps their client will produce the best results. A student who feels incorporated and integral to the learning experience will learn much faster than one who feels removed. I am patient and understanding. I can move through information fast or slow down. I am…

A tutor is more than just one that imparts knowledge. Any textbook, podcast or Youtube Video can do that. The power of a good tutor is in his or her ability to strengthen and encourage their students, so helping them gain some momentum to keep persevering in subjects that are challenging them. Tutor Mandurah, WA
The most important thing a tutor can do is help the student realize and reach their potential and recognize their own capabilities and intelligence. I am very patient in my approach to teaching. I am polite, punctual and very enthusiastic. I find it easy to communicate with my students and find exactly what they might be struggling with and…

We are over the moon with the choice of tutor, Geoff Fawcett, for our son Cruz. We weren't sure at first because we had never had a Maths tutor before but he walked in with a big smile on his face and blew us away with his offbeat personality and has bonded with us really well. It has only been a few weeks but we are hoping that Cruz will continue to make progress over time. Cruz is really interested and responds well to Geoffs style of teaching.

Inside Dudley ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Lexie worked on times tables strategies and patterns, focusing on strengthening multiplication recall.

In Year 8, Olivia practised solving algebraic equations and expanded her understanding of linear graphs using Desmos calculator activities.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Jack tackled financial maths topics including simple interest calculations and applied index laws to real-world finance problems.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student was reminded, "just be careful reading the question," after missing key details in algebraic problems, which led to lost marks despite knowing the method.

For a Year 7 assignment, confusion about what to do meant progress stalled until clear steps were given; "once Zack has been given direction he completes task to a high standard."

In primary maths (Years 3–5), times tables and larger single-digit multiplications proved slow, with switching between tables breaking focus. This sometimes left the student staring at blank spaces instead of attempting an answer, especially when under time pressure.

Recent Achievements

One Dudley Park tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to guess at answers now confidently asks for help when stuck and can explain her reasoning step by step.

A high schooler preparing for an assessment broke down questions independently—something he struggled with previously—and followed each outlined step, leading to much clearer working.

Meanwhile, a primary student who had trouble remembering times tables last term began spotting patterns in the 9s and recalled them easily during their session, finishing a set of multiplication problems without needing prompts.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mandurah Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Dudley Park Primary School.
