I believe the most important part of tutoring is establishing a basis for further understanding rather than promoting memory based learning. Instead, I believe a good tutor should seek to develop a students intuition, allowing for a more rounded and stress-free learning experience. I believe I have good patience and a sense of empathy to help me…

It is paramount to develop an equitable learner/teacher coalition in which a sense of discovery is at the fore. Results and grades are important but the journey must be enjoyable and maintain a sense of real life application. Developing a personal relationship is very important otherwise there is no need for the student to use a real person as a…

I believe that if a tutor can help the student really enjoy the work by making it simple as well as gratifying, then the student will be motivated to work ahead and aim for their best - a student can be top of the class even if they don't believe it at first! I think I have a good amount of patience and ability to motivate a student. I don't…

The most important thing a tutor can do is listen to the student and try to understand what it is they actually need to learn. Sometimes a tutor is teaching something but they are not actually listening to what the student is asking, which is false. It is also important to personalise how a tutor teaches to how a student learns. Although this is…

The requisite ability of a tutor is to teach, but the far more difficult and far more important task is to give context on what a student is learning. In other words, to explain why you would want to study, what you can do with a good ATAR and to show them the potential that is so easy to overlook whilst you're in school. It becomes so…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make learning clear, approachable, and tailored to their needs. Building a student’s confidence is just as important as teaching the material—many students…

Local Reviews

We had a rocky start with the tutor initially assigned to us but EzyMath were incredibly responsive, helpful and professional in fixing the problem with no hesitation and I have found them to be a very top-notch and impressive organisation with excellent communication and customer service. Our subsequent tutor is just fabulous and we would highly recommend EzyMath to anyone.

Inside Frankston SouthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Chloe focused on converting fractions to decimals and practiced comparing the values of different fractions.

In Year 9, Sam worked through more advanced circle geometry, including calculating area and perimeter for composite shapes.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Mia reviewed simultaneous equations and tackled worded problems involving systems of linear equations.

Recent Challenges

Handwriting and formatting challenges appeared across several year levels.

In Year 8, "formatting and writing causes avoidable mistakes"—untidy layout made correct answers hard to spot, especially in fractions and decimals.

A Year 10 student's algebra was strong, but as a tutor observed, "formatting of questions caused him to get a few wrong where his math was good."

Senior students in Years 11–12 sometimes skipped setting out full working in trigonometry or integration tasks; this led to confusion when reviewing solutions and made error tracking difficult.

Messy presentation meant time lost re-reading unclear steps instead of building new skills.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Frankston South noticed a Year 11 student who used to guess at answers now stops to check each step when working through exponential equations, showing more careful problem-solving.

Another high schooler, previously reluctant to ask for help with simultaneous equations involving three variables, has started voicing specific questions mid-task instead of getting stuck in silence.

In Year 6, a student who struggled last term with fraction operations was able to convert and simplify fractions independently this week, even explaining their process aloud without prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Somerville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Derinya Primary School.
