Tutor Gatton, QLD
I consider helping to improve students' confidence and problem solving skills to be the most important thing. I know as a tutors we are not always going to be there to help the student. By not only improving their understanding but giving them the confidence to have a go at a problem is how tutors can be the most impactful. My strengths are…

Local Reviews

My son wasn't feeling confident about his Yr 12 maths heading towards IB exams and I contacted Ezymathstutoring because I needed to set something up quickly. They very quickly found a tutor who came to our house, was very flexible and who worked really well with my son. He went into his exams far more prepared and confident. The tutor also provided regular written feedback along the way - something I haven't had with past tutors. High quality tutor, very competitive rate and easy to pay online - no hesitation in reommending

Inside GranthamTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Emma worked on understanding mean, median, and mode in statistics, as well as interpreting box plots using real data examples.

In Year 10, Jack practised solving algebraic word problems involving linear equations and revised concepts around rates and ratios by tackling targeted textbook exercises.

For Year 11 student Sam, recent sessions focused on balancing redox reactions in Chemistry and applying logarithmic functions to challenging Maths Methods questions.

Recent Challenges

Several students across year levels have been struggling with organization and follow-through.

For example, a Year 10 student did not complete any assigned homework, which limited opportunities for independent practice before class.

In Year 8, one learner had trouble structuring notes and lost track of required materials, as reflected in "he had not done any of the homework assigned either."

Senior students faced challenges setting out work clearly; as one tutor noted, "take care with setting out; book work."

These issues often meant valuable lesson time was spent catching up or clarifying basics instead of moving ahead.

Recent Achievements

One Grantham tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 11 student who used to rush through maths questions and make careless mistakes—now he's started laying out his working step-by-step on paper, and finished last session feeling ready for his upcoming exam.

A Year 9 student who was usually hesitant about algebra has begun talking through each problem aloud, which helps him catch errors before moving on.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student surprised her tutor by completing all her assigned times tables practice at home for the first time and came in able to recall them much faster than before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Gatton Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Grantham State School.
