What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy building rapport with students, helping them build confidence through encouragement and seeing them improve over time. I find it really rewarding to see students progress and to start to enjoy subjects they were once struggling with.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are connecting with students as well as breaking down difficult concepts by linking them to what the student already knows.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I consider helping to improve students' confidence and problem solving skills to be the most important thing. I know as a tutors we are not always going to be there to help the student. By not only improving their understanding but giving them the confidence to have a go at a problem is how tutors can be the most impactful.

About Hayden

High-achieving uni student with proven maths tutoring experience

Hayden is a veterinary science student with a top-tier GPA (more than 90%) and multiple academic awards, showing he understands how to learn efficiently and explain complex ideas clearly. He has formal experience as a maths tutor at university level, working with students who often feel unsure about the subject. This tutor is used to breaking problems into simple, logical steps and checking for understanding along the way, which translates beautifully to helping primary and high school students gain confidence in maths.

Patient communicator who supports students through challenges

Through his mentoring role for new university students, Hayden has organised and run weekly support sessions, guided students through unfamiliar systems and been a reliable point of contact when they felt overwhelmed. This experience has sharpened his listening skills and his ability to tailor explanations to different personalities. Parents can expect a tutor who notices when a student is stuck, asks the right questions, and calmly works through difficulties rather than rushing to the answer.

Organised, down-to-earth role model with real-world interests

Outside study, Hayden enjoys woodworking and cooking, interests he uses to make lessons more engaging by relating maths concepts to real, hands-on examples like measurements, timing and ratios. His background in busy, people-focused environments has taught him to be organised, punctual and dependable. This tutor brings a steady, friendly presence to sessions, helping students feel comfortable, stay on task, and see how classroom skills connect to everyday life.
