I am very passionate about Maths and enjoy doing it. I am very reliable, punctual, friendly and…

I believe that while grades are important, they are not always completely comprehensive of a student's ability in a subject. If the student is able to walk away from a session being able to understand the concept and feel interested and confident with it, they not only will gain better results in exams but will have a better idea of the subject as…

Aside from teaching the content in an understandable and logical manner, I also think that a tutor should try to inspire a student to become a self-directed and motivated learner. Such a transformation creates the best performing students because they no longer overly rely on the tutelage of others. Rather, they learn to handle a variety of…

Obviously bumping up grades.
But before that comes there is the massive component where the tutor is able to let the student feel like they actually know what they're doing. Instilling confidence in someone and helping them to not feel dumb can change the way they approach learning and improve everything about their academic life. Coming from…

Tutors fill a different role than teachers and parents, and that puts them in a unique position to support students. Personal relationships are foundational to student success -- the more connected a student feels to his or her tutor, the more the tutor creates trust and respect, essential ingredients for students to learn well. When a tutor…

Listen, and understand why they've been having difficulties in their study.
Only then can the tutor truly be able to help the student get past these in order to make learning fun again. I'm a fast learner, excellent communicator and problem solver, and most of all, i take the time to listen in a calm and patient manner.
I believe this last…

Help them understand that math isn't difficult, but its logic. Help them think about math in a way that makes so much sense that they will be confused as to how they couldn't figure that out earlier. Since that is what maths basically is, just logic. I'm very good at communicating to the student what the questions are asking, and making them think…
