Biology Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
I believe the biggest thing a biology tutor can do is show the student how to study, meaning how to break down concepts and how to analyze. That way you will always have the tools should you decide to learn something later on in life. I believe I am very patient and take my time to explain things to students. I also like for them to take their…

Biology Tutor Darling Heights, QLD
A tutor can help a student develop the necessary skills,by which he can learn and understand by himself. Also, he can help identify the students weaknesses and provide alternatives by which the student can easily learn. I have patience and understanding. I also have excellent writing skills. Moreover, I like challenges and I love it when I can…

Biology Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
Not only is knowing the content extremely important, but the way tutors teach the content is more important. Every student has their own needs, and a biology tutor must recognise that some teaching strategies might work for some but not work for others. My strengths is my teaching style. I believe my ability to connect with the student allows the…

Biology Tutor Rangeville, QLD
I believe a tutor should take teaching very passionately when doing her/his job as these early days in students life will play important role in their later life. At the same time, I think a tutor should be emotionally intelligent enough to build a good relationship with student so that student enjoys learning. I try explain the science concepts…

Inside Hodgson ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Ava focused on solving word problems involving rates and ratios, as well as practising division of fractions with whole numbers.

In Year 10, Liam revised Pythagoras' theorem and tackled area and perimeter word problems in basic circle geometry.

For senior secondary, Sam worked through financial maths topics such as annuities and compound interest, alongside introductory work on network theory to strengthen his understanding of connections between mathematical concepts.

Recent Challenges

Several students in Years 3–7 have not completed assigned homework, which meant less practice with foundational skills such as multiplication tables and geometry.

For example, one Year 8 student "had not done any of the homework assigned either," so time was spent catching up instead of moving forward.

In a Year 11 Maths Methods session, a student's working was described as disorganized—steps were often skipped or written messily, making it difficult to spot errors when revising.

Another senior student struggled to structure an assignment, unsure how to apply teacher feedback about mark allocation; confusion lingered after the lesson ended.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Hodgson Vale noticed a Year 10 student who used to get distracted is now consistently working through maths problems without losing focus, even completing all his homework last session—something he hadn't managed before.

Meanwhile, a Year 12 chemistry student, after struggling with electrolysis questions for weeks, was able to sort through them independently and explain his reasoning out loud.

At the primary level, one student who used to rush her times tables now takes time to check each answer and has become much quicker at solving them.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library or at your child's school (with permission), like Vale View State School.
