Needs a little more work on making corrections. Can pick up some newer concepts quite well. Because times tables were never thoroughly learnt the student can struggle with questions that require arithmetic. E.g. simplifying fractions. Questions that do not require more difficult arithmetic the student has less trouble with.
He needs to prioritise work over whatever he does in his 'spare' time. If he puts in the same amount of effort with his own homework (when I'm not there) as he does when I'm present I'm sure he will notice an improvement.
Her main problem area is with linear functions so I will try to devote at least a little bit of time towards that each week, so that when a harder functions topic inevitably comes up, she will be able to follow along and understand in class. Also, a minor problem that I am trying to correct is to get Ashley into the habit of writing down the full question and setting out working neatly. It will help a lot when it comes to revising for exams.
