The most important things an economics tutor can do is to provide motivation and communication. It is important that a student is able to ask questions and be engaged in their studies. I believe my strengths are paitience, competence in Mathematics (as I studied up to Mathematics Extension 1); and my ability to understand the difference in needs…

I believe one of the most important things an economics tutor can do for a student is serve as a secondary teacher/mentor to a school teacher. As school teachers have to focus on a large class (usually around 30 students), they are unable to address the needs of each student. As each student has their own struggles and needs, an exterior tutor…

The most important thing an economics tutor can do for a student is teach them the formulaic way of how to study. There is a set procedure that is unique to every individual and subject of how to fully understand and apply various concepts. Once one is able to find that procedure and develop it, they are able to learn much more in their given…

A tutor can make a huge difference in a student’s learning experience by trying to help students to build a better understanding and not just memorizing the concepts. My strengths are: - Taking difficult concepts, making them simple and relatable to each person. - Each person has their own way to learn, so I adjust my teaching methods to fit…

The most important thing an economics tutor can do for a student is help them understand. Memorising content is useful, but without understanding, the brain soon discards it as unimportant. Understanding allows students to see the bigger picture and how concepts tie together. Memorising forces students into a box, where questions outside of what…

A tutor can also communicate their experiences and the techniques used for effective studying. Tutors…

I believe an economics tutor imparts part of his or her knowledge to the student. However, it does not stop with just knowledge. I personally feel that a tutor can instill passion and confidence to a student. This would definitely help a student later in the student's career. i believe an economics tutor has to have a solid understanding of all content to provide the best support to a student, has to be patient, must know a range of way to approach a question, and must be readily available to answer questions through online or in person, and a tutor should be friendly and willing to have fun with the lesson so as it…

Apart from only teaching the textbook content, I like to counsel them as to the importance of education and how its going to help them in the future by encouraging them to do better. Tutors need to give the students a short break of about 5-10 mins in between so that they don't get over worked, as the situation demands. Both of this helps the…

To make the students be clear of the basics which helps the students in the long run and also to be polite with them as not all students have the same level of understanding, and each student has different pace at which they learn so we need to give them as much time as possible to learn better. Inside LansvaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Matthew worked through algebraic expressions, including simplifying and factorising, and tackled a coordinate geometry problem using past exam resources.

Another Year 8 student, Jason, focused on solving textbook algebra exercises—expanding brackets and collecting like terms—and began revising earlier topics for consolidation.

For English, Year 8 student Ethan identified literary techniques within short texts and completed a spelling test of 15 words to build vocabulary accuracy.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 Maths, one student attempted homework yet made a lot of guesses and did not do working out, leading to repeated errors in algebra that could have been avoided with clearer steps.

A Year 10 English student hesitated to share when confused and needed more practice with spelling unfamiliar words, which slowed progress on written tasks.

In Year 6, skipping feedback after mistakes meant the same issues recurred during pretests.

Meanwhile, a Year 11 struggled to manage time during exam questions, often rushing the last section and missing marks for incomplete answers.

Recent Achievements

One Lansvale tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously hesitated with factorisation now confidently works through examples and even reads comprehension passages aloud with much smoother flow.

In a recent Year 7 maths session, another student who often relied on prompting began following the full steps independently for dividing problems—no reminders needed.

Meanwhile, a primary school learner who used to struggle with spelling tackled her English homework without help and corrected words she missed last week all on her own, finishing the task before moving on to extra questions by choice.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Whitlam Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Cabramatta Public School.
